Why Aren’t You Traveling More?

I've been back home in the states for a couple of days. Upon arrival, I immediately went to one of my favorite places in the world, LA Fitness.

What’s stopping you from traveling more?

My Initial Challenge
For me, traveling alone was a major challenge. I thought few people traveled solo and activities like eating alone would get lonely.

As a result, I did the weak-minded thing and started traveling with people that weren’t the best fit. On one trip with a group, I wanted to explore the city, but they wanted to spend the whole day in the hotel. This created a lot of friction, and as a result, I wasted quite a few trips because I wasn’t brave enough to leap.

I’m not sure what clicked, but I just bought a plane ticket and took the leap one day. Going on a solo trip felt like leaving home for the first time; I was terrified.

Side note on leaving home: If I knew how much fun living on my own would be, I would’ve left my home MUCH SOONER. I don’t have to get the damn remote anymore. Sorry, Mom and Dad.

On the first day of my solo trip, I went to 4 museums, ate at 6 restaurants, and partied that night. In addition, I made a bunch of new friends.

Then I realized that I was the weirdo. Few people would be able to keep up with my energy.

Yes, I’m “different,” that’s obvious. My point is that solo travel gives me the freedom to do whatever I want.

I’m not against traveling with other people anymore; I’m just more selective.

However, if you’re a videographer, you can travel with me anytime. Let me know where you want to go, and we’ll make it happen.

Don't Miss Out on the All the Good
Traveling has many benefits, like food, culture, and a more fulfilling life. So don’t let a silly obstacle prevent you from traveling more.

Most people like the idea of frequent travel, but few do it consistently. Outside of work-related travel, I rarely hear someone say they regret traveling too much.

Other Common Obstacles

These are some of the other reasons why people don’t travel more.

  • Finances

  • Family

  • Pets

  • Health

  • Age

  • Safety

  • Work

I’ve met people that still travel frequently despite their obstacles.

If there’s any obstacle you would like me to cover, let me know, and I’ll write something up. If I don’t know, I can put you in touch with someone that does.
