Essential Apps When Traveling

These are the main apps that I consistently use when traveling. In addition, all of these apps have free versions.

Tripit: This app organizes all trip plans in one location within a timeline. What's great is that this app automatically updates when you buy a new flight or book a hotel. --> Low maintenance, high value.

Packr: Pre-trip checklist. Who doesn't hate forgetting to bring something on a trip? This checklist adjusts to the trip length and weather forecast of an area. (e.g. For a 5 day trip to Russia, it'll tell you to pack 5 shirts, a coat, and a scarf.) This app is also fully customizable. For my subscribers out there, you can create the following custom categories:

Curling: Zac

Racing: Tom

Gaming: Tesh

Salsa: Too many to count. I've been scoping out all of the dance places...I got you. 😉❤️✊

Splitwise: When traveling with a group of people, it's hard keeping track of expenses. This app will tell you what each person owes, and you'll be able to pay through the app.

Google Maps: We all use this app. Use the marker feature to highlight places of interest and download offline maps to navigate without internet access. Here's a map of my recent trip to Providence.

Uber/Lyft/DiDi/etc. - Ride-sharing apps. Download all of them beforehand because each location has its own restrictions.

Google Translate: Super helpful when I'm in a country with a different language. It's useful when reading menus (the authentic restaurants don't have English menus) or communicating with local taxi drivers trying to scam me
