How to Make Trip Planning Less Painful

I'm currently in Charleston, South Carolina and thanks to everyone for the recommendations on what to do. I will try my best to check them all out. 


 Does travel planning make you anxious? If so, you aren’t alone.  

Do you have a dream trip that you’ve always wanted to go on but never get around to planning because you’re overwhelmed by the logistics of booking hotels, flights, and activities?

Again, you’re not alone. Even though I travel all the time, trip planning can even stress me out.

In my experience, travel planning can become a problem if I don’t act quickly enough. Sometimes I only have two weeks to prepare for a trip so efficiency is key!

Here's a method for overcoming procrastination that I use on all of my trips…

Pick the place and book the flight before worrying about anything else.

Seriously, it's that simple. Don't stress yourself out over your trip itinerary until the flight is booked. 

I'm not sure what happens in the brain, but booking the flight is a psychological commitment. If I end up writing a book, I’ll get stats on what goes on neurologically after receiving your flight confirmation email.  

Once you book the flight, everything else becomes easier because the plane will leave with or without you. 

After I book my flights, my mind starts racing with possibilities because the trip is no longer theoretical. 

Then, I recommend booking accommodation for shorter trips.

If you're going on a more extensive trip or visiting multiple cities, write a list of things you want to do and then book the accommodations around those activities.
