Don't Forget These Items When Exploring a City

I just learned that Costco has stores around the world. So it's official, I'm leaving the country for good.

Jk However, if Wegmans and LA Fitness expand globally, all bets are off.

Earlier this month, I wrote an issue on essential items to bring on a hike. In this issue, I'm listing what to bring when exploring a city.

Back-up battery - I bring two with me on trips. One battery is charging at the home base while the other one is out with me. Devices like the smartphone are vital for navigation, communication, and selfies. So when the phone dies, the pace of the trip slows down immediately.

Water bottle - Don't pay for water. Save the environment.

Snacks - Read my previous article about snacks. I love snacks. Maybe I should write a post about my favorite snacks.

Sanitization Pack: A group of items that I bring with me to make sure I'm clean:

Wet Wipes - I use these to clean my hands before and after eating.

Hand Sanitizer - You can never have enough hand sanitizer. If you're questioning why you need this, you need two bottles.

Toilet Seat Cover - Hate using a sketchy bathroom? Yeah, me too. I always carry at least two with me when traveling.

Tissues - It isn't very comfortable being on the road and sneezing without a tissue. Get a portable tissue pack.

Sunglasses - Who wants to squint the whole trip? Bring sunglasses to stay comfortable when traveling in bright outdoor conditions. Added Bonus: I like wearing sunglasses because I can look around without appearing like a tourist.

Noise-Canceling Bluetooth Earbuds - I love my AirPod Pros because they have many uses:

• Ignore obnoxious people with the noise-canceling feature

• Listen to music to spice up boring parts of a trip (e.g. waiting in line, visiting a lousy museum, or traveling).

• Use the audio directions when navigating on a bike or scooter.

• Learn about an area with an audio tour. I like to listen to the tour when I'm at the location. It's like having a private tour.

Pen and Paper - I hate asking for a pen when filling out paperwork. Save yourself the frustration.
