I feel for everyone who has had their flights canceled due to the recent cyber issues.
This shows that some things can derail even the best-made plans.
I would say the number one mistake most people make when looking for flight deals is choosing the destination first and then the time.
But for some reason, this advice doesn't resonate, and they end up ignoring it and overpaying for flights.
This really bothers me.
So, I came up with a quick hack that will make both of us happy. You'll save money while traveling to your desired destinations!
First, dream of all the places you want to go.
This should be fun, so indulge yourself. As you think of a location, write it down on a piece of paper or, if you're like me, an Excel spreadsheet.
Do this until you can't dream anymore.
Second, once you have your list, go on Google Flights and set up price alerts for those destinations at specific times.
This should take a maximum of 15 minutes.
So when a flight deal comes up, it'll be for a location you already want to visit. All you have to do is book it.
The alerts will keep running in the background, working for you even while you sleep.
Now you can have your cake and eat it too.
P.S. Make sure you're booking at the right time. Booking a flight to the Caribbean during hurricane season is probably not the best idea.
Keep traveling,
Andrew
